The Institute for Peace and Development (IPADES) participated in the Emerging Leaders Summit from October 3 to 6, 2026, as part of its commitment to promoting spaces for pluralistic dialogue, the exchange of experiences, and relationship-building among emerging leaders across the region.
IPADES’ participation demonstrated the institution’s ability to engage with leaders from diverse backgrounds, sectors, and perspectives through a pluralistic approach that remains firmly grounded in its guiding principles of peace, freedom, and development. These spaces are essential for listening to different realities, recognizing shared challenges, and advancing toward regional solutions built on respect, openness, and public responsibility. They create conditions in which differences can be transformed into proposals, learning opportunities, and avenues for collaborative action.

IPADES’ participation also reaffirmed the importance of incorporating new voices into regional debates. Sustainable change requires leaders who can engage beyond their usual circles, build bridges across generations and sectors, and translate dialogue into concrete initiatives for democratic cooperation.
In a regional context marked by polarization, declining public trust, and shrinking civic spaces, gatherings of this nature help strengthen a culture of responsible dialogue. They also make it possible to identify common ground, share tools and experiences, and build relationships that can support future efforts in advocacy, leadership development, and institutional accompaniment.

Participation in this summit strengthens IPADES’ institutional work and confirms the importance of maintaining an active presence in forums where the region’s current and future challenges are discussed. The Institute will continue contributing analysis, convening power, and collaborative initiatives to ensure that new generations of leaders have greater opportunities to influence public affairs and work together for the common good.
