From September 10 to 12, Miami hosted the Atlantic Think Tanks Summit, a high-level forum that brought together political leaders, academics, and think tanks from Latin America, Europe, and the United States to discuss the region’s most pressing challenges and opportunities. The event was organized by the Union of Latin American Parties (UPLA) in collaboration with the Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom at Florida International University (FIU). 

Over three days of discussions, participants exchanged perspectives on key issues shaping the future of Latin America, including democratic governance, economic freedom, sustainable development, regional security, human rights, and the evolving political landscape across the hemisphere. 

As part of this important international gathering, IPADES joined fellow think tanks, academic institutions, foundations, and public leaders in a constructive dialogue aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and promoting public policies that advance freedom, prosperity, and the rule of law. 

The program featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, and expert-led conversations, creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the exchange of best practices among organizations committed to advancing free and open societies.

For IPADES, participation in the Atlantic Think Tanks Summit reaffirmed its commitment to fostering informed public debate, generating evidence-based ideas, and supporting initiatives that contribute to democratic resilience and sustainable development throughout the region.
