IPADES for the Associate Researcher Program

The Institute for Peace and Development (IPADES) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Associate Researcher Program, a unique opportunity for those interested in contributing to impactful research on key issues in Latin America. This program is geared towards young researchers, academics, and professionals wishing to conduct research in areas such as peace, human rights, security, economy, rule of law, civil and political rights, and environmental sustainability.

What Does the Program Offer?

IPADES Associate Researchers will have the opportunity to:

  • Access resources and logistical support to advance their research projects.
  • Participate in workshops and training on research methodologies, ethics, and best practices.
  • Join a collaborative network with other researchers, organizations, and experts in the region.
  • Publish their findings in IPADES official media and recognized academic platforms.
  • Benefit from consulting and mentoring to guide their research and strengthen their skills.

Program Objectives

The IPADES Associate Researcher Program aims to support research that has a lasting and positive impact on the region’s most relevant social and political issues. The program promotes peacebuilding, the strengthening of human rights and democracy, environmental sustainability, and secure and just governance.

Application Process

Interested candidates must complete an online application form and attach supporting documents, such as their CV, academic certificates, and optionally, examples of previous research work. Applications will be evaluated by a tripartite committee composed of the IPADES Executive Director, Program Manager, and Program Director.

Applications are open until December 15, 2024, and selected candidates must meet all eligibility criteria, including adherence to IPADES policies and an ethical commitment throughout their participation.
